Cool touch design is great and very suitable for road trips – We bought this kettle to use for road trips as we are an Asian family and like to drink warm water, but most motels and hotels in the US do not offer water kettles. This kettle is very convenient as it can boil a large amount of water in one setting (1.8L), meanwhile it is quite light, unlike other glass ones which are heavier and can get shattered easily. It also boils water fairly quickly, comparable to other more expensive kettles. Most importantly, it has a plastic exterior so we do not have to be worried about touching the outside and getting burned, since we have to move the kettle around all the time during our travels. Overall, very satisfied!

At first when placing on power base the pin and hole are more difficult to line up then our previous-now-dead unit which was a different brand. After observing others who had no difficulty, we realized that holding the base of the handle allows the angle to be perfect for setting in base. I was grasping the top of handle because of my height. I now change my rating to a five star after resolving this minor issue. Big tank heats as expected and looks good.
