UPDATE – Fantastic little kettle – developed rust – Update / Downgraded – Oct. 2022 -. After 4 months of light use, my kettle developed a rough rusty spot in the bottom near the spout. I’m not sure how this could happen in stainless steel unless it’s a defect. I tried to use the support link and it was not secure and wouldn’t open in my browser. I’d really like Stariver to replace this kettle as I really like using it, but I worried about what might be leeching through the rusty spot.

It heats fairly quickly (albeit noisily), but I should have heeded other reviews: after using it for a year it began leaking a great deal of water out of the bottom—both while sitting on the base and while pouring the hot water out. Also, it is difficult to remove the lid without touching the metal part—which is very hot if it’s just been used to heat water. Another thing to be aware of: the kettle’s capacity is too small to fill two large mugs.

This is a cute little tea kettle. – This is a cute little tea kettle. It makes just enough to fit into my Bodum pot so it works perfectly for me but if you wanted something to fill a teapot you might want to go with something bigger.
