FINALLY! The pizzelles I always wanted! – I have always liked pizzelles at weddings and other functions, and bought an iron a few years ago to make my own. What a nightmare! Sometimes they stuck…which resulted in TONS of fun with a toothpick! They would NOT turn out right, they were always too thick and not crispy. Even if I held the handles tightly the entire time. I tried many different recipes thinking I must be doing something wrong. Some with butter, some with margarine, some with melted crisco, some with oil. All the same..thick, waffle-y cookies. They tasted ok, but the texture was wrong.

Festive and tasty – A full day of crafts with grandchildren included making Pizzelles. Easy and safe for them to do. Results were outstanding, especially as was our first ever Pizzelles.

Love – So very easy to use. Love the nonstick surface. They slide right off. I only used butter for the first one. I don’t think I even needed it. They turned out wonderful. I need to make more for the holidays. Very fast cooking. Great value for the money.

This Pizzelle Iron Does Work Great! – The pizzelle iron works great. I did read a ton of the reviews prior to purchasing. This was a last minute purchase because the one I had for years stopped working. This does the job. For some reason, the instructions weren’t included, there is a pamphlet that reads “read all instructions prior to use” but there weren’t any instructions. It would’ve been nice to know how to operate with the built in light. We just assumed it worked like so many others and off we went with operating it. I do recommend it if you are into making pizzelles.

Makes cookies too fat. Don’t like it – Makes cookies too thick. Don’t like it. Would like to return. I have been out of town since delivery and only used it this week. Still looks perfect

Hard to take sides… – Based on other reviews I saw here before purchasing, I elected to get the non-coated version of this (so NOT the no-stick one). Now I’m not sure that was such a good idea. Nothing in the “booklet” that comes with it to tell you how to use it! Tried not spraying it for the first couple of pizzelles. HUGE mistake!!! Spent the next hour and a half trying to clean up the resulting mess. Tried again, spraying the iron surfaces with PAM cooking spray. That worked from that point on, but it too makes for one heck of a messy clean-up after use. It is tough to get just the right amount of batter in there so that you don’t get excess squeeze out resulting in thin bits all around the outer edges. I realize that is not the fault of the maker itself, but rather just getting to know the right quantity of batter to use. All that said, at the end of the evening, the pizzelles we got out of it were pretty good in texture and doneness. I for one will not be one saying it is “easy to clean”; IMHO it is anything but! I used a bamboo skewer and stiff nylon brush to clean it the day after using it. And a huge number of paper towels. But after learning a few idiosyncrasies of use, it made a decent batch of these favorite of Italian cookies.

Easy peasy – Great buy! I love the Pizzelle Press (Silver). The only down fall is the short cord, it is less than 2 feet long. But seems to be norm these days.

Easy to clean stainless steel plates – I’m happy that I bought the maker with the stainless steel plates. (no need to for a non-stick coated maker)
