Great for friends and families! – I bought this as an interactive dinner party idea and it worked out great. Delivered very securely, came all in one piece. Came with a reversal grill top that is easy to remove and decently easy to wash, one side has grill marks on it if thats your preference; the other side was smooth. It also came with a marble top grill which is very heavy and I did not try, but it is an option. Something not mentioned in the description or not that I saw was that is comes with the handles to scrape the cheese off with. I thought I had to buy those separately, you don’t! The cheese melting trays are color coated if thats important to you. This has 8 melting treys, but likly you will only be able to use 6 as the table gets crowded for one! It came with some very light directions, but really there is a dial on the side that adjusts the temperature and its easy to use. It take about 10 minutes to fully heat up and the cord is a bit short, but manageable. Glad I bought it and have it. If you like to each veggies with it, I do suggest steaming them before cooking on flat top though. Definatly suggest for your family or for a night in with friends.

Disappointed – This was a gift and when it was used everything stuck to the stone. I called the manufacturer and asked about proper directions for use and cleaning. After a long wait, they customer service rep replied that yes I should use a little oil first and it was okay to gently scrub to clean. Unfortunately it left a stain on the stone. I would not recommend this product as directions are poor and the stone is not a good grilling option which is why I purchased it over other raclette products. I wish I could return it.

Swissmar was on top of my list because I think that’s the one my parents had and it worked quite well. Some newer models, even in Switzerland, are of questionable quality. Because of that, I was looking for one where the temperature is adjustable which really limited the options. At the end I decided for the Millar. I have only used it once so far. Swissmar was on top of my list because I think that’s the one my parents had and it worked quite well. Some newer models, even in Switzerland, are of questionable quality. Because of that, I was looking for one where the temperature is adjustable which really limited the options. At the end I decided for the Millar. I have only used it once so far. Heating speed was as expected. The top tray also heated up well. I haven’t tried the granite top which I consider more as a gimmick.
