I wanted to dislike it but…. – Right off the top, I love yet loath gadgets. I only bought this because of the incredible deal on it, so ‘why not’, right?

Mixed feelings on this… – It does what it’s supposed to do. You can pretty much “set and forget” until the timer goes off. If you’re always in a morning rush…then buy it. It’s fast, easy and easy to clean. The downside…flavor. It’s just bland. The eggs become almost tasteless. You are severely limited as to your “extras” and condiments. I don’t really notice any soggy bread issues when cooking everything at once. But, if you put too much cheese, it will “melt out” of the sandwich. I like mayo on mine. But, if you put cheese on the bottom slice and cook the top slice with the egg, the bread will be glued to them and your only option is to add condiments in the middle. In that case, good luck eating “on the run” because your sandwich will be sliding out of the bread. On the plus side; I must watch carbs. So, I use “Sola” bread which fits perfectly in this cooker. I like it enough to use when I’m feeling lazy. But, I prefer the taste of cooking the eggs in the frying pan. You are simply trading taste for convenience. Which, is almost always the case. It does work. You choose if it’s worth it for you.

– You need to plug this in to let it preheat so the egg cooks and fills the cracks enough it doesn’t run out. This works. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because everyone knows at least one person thats going to forget to unplug this appliance. Especially children. It will remain on until its physically unplugged. It gets quite hot actually. I wouldn’t want to test how it makes out plugged in for a entire day or a week if you went away. I’m amazed the timer doesn’t shut it off! The timer is no different than an egg timer sitting on the counter. It has no function other than make a beep when its done and leaves the unit on and heating.

It works – I love this thing. Make your own Egg McMuffins at home and any time of the day for cheap. Buy the spray oil, english muffins, jimmy dean sausage patties, eggs, and american cheese. Keep a handfully of patties thawed and ready in the fridge. 10 minutes. A 3 min warm up; don’t skip. Then stack the ingredients and set the timer for 6 minutes. So easy.

I’m so excited about this egg sandwich maker – I am a senior who has to cook for two, and there is little I hate doing more than cooking. I suppose I could be good at it if I enjoyed it, but I heavily depend on my Ninja Foodi to throw things together for dinner. My partner, who doesn’t want to be bothered with anything, microwaves his lunches, and it’s your typical over-priced, over-processed stuff that creates a ton of plastic trash. Also, I just don’t like the way food cooks in a microwave so I avoid it myself.
