Love it! – I bought this as an extra heater for my ember mug. Now I can enjoy warm beverages in more than one location. It’s a little different design than my original. It has a smaller lip around the base where the mug sits, so it actually takes up less space. All I did was plug it in and it was good to go!

Not as good as it could be – This replacement charger replaced a unit where the charging pins collapsed after about a year. It works as promised, but I expect this one will fail as quickly as the last. They shouldn’t spring load the pins. Overall I’m disappointed with this system. It doesn’t hold a charge for a long time, about 40 min, and it’s fairly expensive considering that fact.

the charger is very poorly designed and produced – the idea of hot beverage till the end is great, the mug is good but the charger is very bad. the one came with the mug stopped charging after 8 month, I found the 2 prongs gets shorter and hidden inside the base and I had to pull them out using pair tweezers to get them prominent again to get the needed contact to charge. I ordered new one and again it went erratic to charge after 7 months with the same problem and doesn’t work more times than working to charge and even in the middle of charging it stopped working. So I ordered now the 3rd one because i like the mug and its function but as soon as some competitor product comes into the market I will definitely switch.

Cheaper than replacing the entire unit. – Purchased this because the first charging base failed. Probably due to a coffee spill I was not aware of. You must be careful setting the cup on the base.

These don’t last long if you are an regular coffee drinker, – I have three travel mugs and got an ember mug 2 ( the one with a handle on the side) for Christmas. All four coasters are dead. It is really good that you can find replacement coasters as the pin that contacts the center charging ring on the ember mugs and cups always stops working after two or three months of daily use.. This coaster seems lij the springs under the pins in the coaster are heavier and better made than older ones and may last longer.
