Works Great. Works Hard. – After making the mistake of buy a similar model at a giant chain that lasted a month and began to spark when turned on….I found this little gem on Amazon. Please note I’m not being compensated or rewarded in any way for giving this review. I’m just an old lady who is pretty impressed with this beauty. The other never got hot enough to boil water, it also was not sealed and hence the sparks. This unit is “sealed” and built so any spills do not reach the top or the sides. It’s extremely easy to clean up with just a scrubber and some mild detergent. I rarely give glowing reviews but for the cost, this is an amazing deal. My thanks to the makers of Elite Gourmet! Would definitely buy again if ever needed.

SO HAPPY with this stove eye!! – I took this on a 5 day tent camping trip. I had previously been using an alcohol stove at my husband’s insistence cuz he thought they were cool (they ARE cool in an emergency; definitely a pain in the rear when trying to cook 3 meals a day and then having to clean black soot off your cookware and also try not to die breathing the smoke!!). ~I~ insisted we try a hot plate and man, oh man, did it change my camping experience. It felt super safe like I didn’t have to stand right over it while boiling water in my kettle (unlike the alcohol stove where I felt like I needed to hover with a fire extinguisher in case it set the whole desert on fire!). It boiled kettle water in like 5 mins or so. Boiled mac and cheese water in about 8 mins or so. I cooked a one pot meal that turn out well. After I was done cooking with it, it needed to cool down for about 20-30 mins (depending on the outside temp- it was 89 in Phoenix where we camped for the first 2 days, then 69 towards southern AZ where we camped the last 3 days). Only negative I can see is the very short cord- we had 3 outdoor extension cords so it was not a problem for us, but buyers be aware that the cord is quite short. The other thing is, I cut myself on the lip of the hot plate taking it out of the box. It was only a small cut and I’m not making a big deal out of it, but I think it could have been a worse cut at a different angle. Just be careful. I’ve put it in and taken it out of the box a bunch of times since then and have not cut myself.

Does the Job, Good Temporary Replacement – So I recently moved into a new apartment and on my first night the stove coil popped and broke. So while I am waiting for a replacement I needed to get a temporary stove to use. After a bit of looking this seemed to be a good cost effective option.

Surprisingly, it works quite well – Who doesn’t like the controlable heat of a Gas Stove? Changes instantly and is continuously variable from Low to High. Vietnamese Restaurants invoke huge gas flames, 80,000 BTU’s surrounding the sides of a wok to stir fry a meal put together in one or two minutes.
