High quality heavy glass jars, this seems to be the most economical set… – Very good price for jars of this quality — heavy glass. They are apparently only available in one size, but can be purchased in sets of two, four & six. I originally purchased a set of six of these jars for $19.99 and was favorably impressed. I wanted to purchase another set and found this set by accident — three more jars for only $1.00 more! I wish I had seen this set first! Much more economical for someone that needs a lot of jars.

Pretty nice glass jars – I’m pretty happy with these, but only because they fit my use. I’m primarily going to be using them for dry goods storage. They’re a great value at the listed price point of $20. The wire bails are thick and substantial, not thin and flimsy like some out there. However, I can say without a doubt that the metal alloy used to make the bails is not stainless steel. It’s misleading how stainless steel is listed in the product description and that’s why I deducted a star. If they somehow are indeed stainless steel, then it is a really inferior stainless steel alloy used. When I received the jars, I hand washed them all and let them air dry in a dish rack. Once dry, there was a white residue clearly forming on the metal wire. This initial oxidation proves that these would not fare well being washed in a dishwasher or submerged in water for any length of time. I don’t plan on running these through the dishwasher or anything to find out just how badly these would tarnish, but the other review suggests that it would be significant and I believe that’s true. They also should not be stored in a damp location because I’m sure they would continue to tarnish and corrode over time.

Fun idea! – This is such a fun activity to do with kids. It’s a little tricky to spin out a good stick worth for the kids, but after some practice my 7 yr old figured it out. Sort of a pain to clean up, but worth the effort for the fun activity with the kids that they enjoy.
