Best Dehydrator I Have Used Yet! – I have purchased 4 dehydrators in the last year. This was the cheapest and the most basic. It has outlasted all of the other digital more expensive models i bought. Its still working great!

Works well and easy to use. – Like it, nothing to complain about. Look forward to dehydrating my abundance of garden produce without filling up the freezer.

I have had several dehydrators and this is the best one yet. – I LOVE the ability to set the temperature on this one. I have had several dehydrators in the past but this is the best one. Trays are smaller but I can still get so much done on it.

Simple and useful – Easy to use and clean. Food turns out great. It was also a good price and is a nice size big enough to dehydrate some fruit for my family of 3 but doesn’t take up much counter space

What’s not to like here? Nothing! – Compared to the Ronco dehydrator I bought not that long ago, this is the diamond in the rough, while the Ronco was just rough. This one is indeed compact, much MUCH easier to use, and doesn’t sound like a 747 taking off. I bought some of those round perforated “mats” because I dry herbs mostly and this way they don’t slip through the slots in the plastic trays. I gave it 4 stars only because it takes for-freakin’-EVER to dry my herbs. I don’t know if it’s the lesser wattage or the fan speed, but it does take a long time. However, it makes nice dry, crispy basil leaves, which is the sine qua non of almost everything I cook! If you have a small kitchen, limited counter space, and patience … I do highly recommend this one!

So far, checks out as a 3D printer filament dryer – I’ve been running this for over two hours, with an oven thermometer in the modded chamber. Basically, I just put some corrugated cardboard and two layers of mylar bubble wrap insulation between one tray and the lid. (5″ width. Takes about 31″ length to make the cylinder.) I also ended up taping 4 of the 6 vent holes in the lid. The oven thermometer reads right at 50 Celsius, or 122 F, which is my target temperature. To get that, I ended up turning the knob just below the 140 degree mark. So temperature control isn’t 100% accurate, but the temp seems to be stable. Adding the bubble wrap insulation seems to be a must. Before I added it, the chamber wall felt very warm, but with the bubble wrap, the outer temp feels not much more than room temp. Another 3D printer reviewer also used a cardboard chamber, but couldn’t achieve his desired temperature. The increased surface area probably radiates heat away too fast for the heater to keep up. This makes me seriously question the value of this device as a food dryer, unless one makes a bubble wrap insulation couzy for the trays. Also, another reviewer talked about taping the vent holes up on the lid, after which some component melted. I think the blower/heater depends on airflow for cooling, so I wouldn’t tape all of the holes up. In any case, I’m about to get my first filament spool to try drying it overnight.

Perfect! – This little dehydrator works like a champ! I used it to dehydrate my pre dried gourmet Reiki mushrooms today. It got them cracker dry in about 3 hours! I love that it has a temperature control that you can change based upon your needs. It has 5 separate trays stacked one over the other. The trays are kind of slim though, so you have to either use only small foods in this, or cut up your food before dehydration so they’ll fit the trays. You’ll want to get some very small silicone mats or something similar if you plan to use this for any really small things, like herbs, because the slots in the tray that are required for proper air flow are pretty big and smaller items will likely fall right through. It’s a great product though, and I’m happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend this Commercial Chef dehydrator!
