With attention, it working great – I have had this in use daily for 7 months. One time I smelled it heating while without water. That caused slight discoloration around the bottom area of the tank. I stopped leaving it plugged in when I was finished using it. That problem was solved. It gets a grimy build up if I don’t wipe it down with 5% vinegar on a soft scrubbing pad. I haven’t finished cleaning it & if you look closely at the bottom you can see the built up. It comes off easily but that area is so small I use a Q tip to remove the build up. It takes adjusting to use it. The price was really reasonable. It heated water up to 179 on a daily basis & will go higher if I reheat the water. I turn the unit off, wait a couple of minutes then turn it back on & it reheats the water. I have zero corrosion after 7 months of daily use. I’m satisfied with how it functions.

Cheap but works well. Lock is OFF by default. – I bought this as a replacement for a previous similar dispenser. On the previous dispenser, and I thought most dispensers, the default mode is locked and you press the unlock button to allow water to be dispensed. This model is unlocked by default, although it does have a lock button for you to lock it yourself.

Well designed, excellent manual pump – I’ve had the pot for a couple of weeks. We had similar pots in the past and used them elsewhere, so I have a few points of reference. First off, the user interface, i.e. the few buttons to control the pot are very well placed and marked. This has not been the case with the other pots. It’s important as if you accidentally press “dispense” you may have a problem. The dispensing is done in one of three ways. There is big, lighted, different shape and placed very separately from other buttons the Dispense button on the top. Then there is a button under the spout, so that you could just press the cup against it to dispense. Finally, there is a manual pump. The pump is excellent. You can fill very quickly a full cup with a single push most of the time. As the water level in the pot drops, the jet pressure drops too, but still it is way better than other pots we used. You still can fill the entire cup with a single push, but you will have to wait longer as the stream gets weaker. Pumping it twice fills up a cup very quickly even with the nearly empty pot. Very impressive. The other two buttons are Boil and Lock. The latter disables all electric functions which is useful, for example, if you have small kids. While locked, the manual pump still operates and the water is kept hot.

There’s some deposits that don’t go away no matter how much you clean it – I’ve had this hot water urn for three months and I’ve tried my best to keep it clean, but even with a scrub brush, nothing comes off. This is due to mineral deposit from hard water/ mineral treated water.

Absolutely love it – So nice to have hot water ready 24/7! Before the purchase I thought it would be convenient, but I’m still surprised at how many times I use and appreciate having it in my kitchen! Especially in winter it’s absolutely delightful to have a warm cup of tea whenever I want.

Manual pressing of top for dispensing is difficult. – The manual means of dispensing by pressing on the depressible top cover is very hard to use but does work to fill mug with much pressing. the mechanical means for dispensing involves pressing a button which seems to involve an electrical circuit..
