Makes Vitamix an average food processor – I was super excited when this product become available. We bought a Vitamix Ascent blender 3 years ago and it is by far the single most kitchen equipment that we use on a daily basis. But it had its deficiencies, for some of the textural foods it wasn’t great. One of the things I was looking for in a food processor is to make/knead doughs easily, which Vitamix wasn’t great at. High price was a bit of hard pill to swallow but we thought it will expand our cooking and make it a bit easy in kitchen in the pandemic.

I’m excited with my investment – I purchased this attachment along with the blender here on Amazon. I wanted to have a blender/food processor in one. Unfortunately, the blender had to go back because it wasn’t compatible with the food processor. I had to purchase the blender from Vitamix because you can only use their Self-detect blender with the food processor. Yes, it is a HUGE expense, and most people can’t afford to do that, but for me I was sick of purchasing appliances than didn’t work well enough, too loud, or didn’t last. I’ve used both, the blender and food processor and so far it stands to the hype.

Exceeds expectations – Just received the Vitamix Food Processor attachment. I’ve had it three days and in every instance I’ve used it, it’s exceeded expectations. It is well built and very high quality. When I first heard about it, I winced at the price. Vitamix makes premium products and has premium support. I’ve owned it’s blenders for 20+ years and this product meets if not exceeds the quality standards I’ve come to expect.

I LOVE IT! – I should have purchased this years ago when I bought my ascent blender. It’s a game changer, time saver and allows for many more recipe ideas. I will admit, the 1st hour after opening I hated this thing and wanted to return it…lol. It was all operator errors. After clearing how to use it, I fell in love. I.e. for my blender, dial #1 only does quick chops. To run continuously, the dial must be on 2# or higher, if you don’t close the lid securely on both sides it won’t start.

Works well but the safety features are annoying – I like the unit but the safety feature that prevents it from running while the big pusher is out is super annoying. If they were going to go that direction they should have made the small hole that you drop food down way bigger than it is, you can’t even fit a quartered onion down it so you’re better off halving onions, taking the big pusher out (which stops the machine), putting half an onion in, putting the big pusher back so the safety is on, and then turning on the machine for the 5 seconds it takes to dice the onion and repeating until you’re done.
