Large capacity! – The reason we purchased this kettle was for the large (2.0L) capacity because we make a large French press and separate cup of americano each morning so it needed to be able to hold all that water to save time. It does take a bit for it to come to a boil at that capacity, but it’s worth it. The ONLY reasons it’s getting a 4 out of 5 is because occasionally a makes a very loud screeching noise that we’ve tried everything to resolve on our own (maybe a defect?) and the top doesn’t seem to seal completely so when you go to pour it out, it pours wider than the spout and usually results in us having to clean up the spilled water on the counter. Nothing that makes or breaks it, but I’m giving it a 4 because we were bummed about those things. Other than those two reasons, we love the capacity and the white/glass/stainless steel sleekness in our white farmhouse kitchen!

5 Months and Going Strong – I wanted a kettle that didn’t scream, so I started looking for a plug-in. Finding one that would replicate my stovetop Farberware kettle’s capacity was tough because most have a 1.7L limit. This has 2.0, which was perfect. Ten minutes after turning it on, it’s come to a galloping boil and shuts itself off. Wish I’d switched a lot sooner. Coffee is ready faster and the kettle is a lot quieter than the old one.

I was like, “The plastic used for the kettle and the base appear to be the cheapest plastic out there – it just looks and feels so cheaply made, surely it’ll break in a month.” But months later and after many uses, it’s still chugging along. Sure it’s cheap and cheaply made, but I have to give credit where credit is due: it has worked consistently! I like the fact that it’s glass so I can see the water and also that it’s easier to clean than another glass one I got where they encased the top of the glass with stainless steal which made it difficult to clean and pour (although it looked much nicer). One other thing, the bottom of the lid is made of stainless steel, but when you pour, there’s a bit of plastic that hot water can touch depending how far you tip your kettle.

I was like, “The plastic used for the kettle and the base appear to be the cheapest plastic out there – it just looks and feels so cheaply made, surely it’ll break in a month.” But months later and after many uses, it’s still chugging along. Sure it’s cheap and cheaply made, but I have to give credit where credit is due: it has worked consistently!
