Easy to clean, easy to use, great camping coffee! – I was skeptical about using a new device for making coffee while camping. But my friends convinced me that the pour over system works and is great. So I bought this one, ised it during a camping trip- and it was great! Instructions are easy to follow. The thing comes apart so easily for an extremely easy clean, and it makes one hell of a cup of coffee! Very happy with my purchase!!

It is heavily built ,heavier than many others. – While the built in filter does work for med-course grind coffee; the average off the shelf ground coffee leaves considerable dregs. Also the cleaning out the used grounds is a bit messy.

It’s lightweight yet sturdy and I don’t have to worry about it getting broken when packed in all my cooking gear. No coffee filter needed, zero grounds in my cup and it’s easy to clean. I would take a practice run at home before using it while traveling. Maybe others are smarter (or more awake) but it took me a minute to figure out how to take it apart for cleaning but it’s really very simple.

Only complaint is that it does let some very fine grinds through that end up in the bottom of your cup. If you grind your own beans you can probably avoid this, but I tried it with pre-ground coffee for the sake of ease while camping and some of the particles were too fine

If you do not grind your own coffee from beans, it may not be for you. Especially if you are younger. If you use ground coffee there will be a considerable amount of extremely fine grounds in the bottom of your cup. Enough to put some people off. I grind my own beans and can adjust how fine I wish it to be. Also, I am older and grew up drinking percolated coffee. There was always going to be grounds in your cup. That’s just the way things were. I’m not bothered by it. Also, I like this Stanley because I can pour the coffee a second time over the same grounds. The second time releases more of the oils in the coffee. It will usually froth much as espresso does. I think it is solid enough to last for years.
