      How did I ever function without this in our kitchen? – If you ever entertain and prepare a large meal, these slow cookers are a life-saver. Perfect size and operates very well. Several guest commented that they were going to purchase them. As noted in the instructions, when you first turn them on, you will smell a non-offensive burning odor. I just placed a little water in the bottom of each pot and set to high for about one-hour. During our gathering, we did not notice any odor. Easy clean-up. Makes us want to entertain more. As noted on the sellers site and reviews, just allow some time if you are heating items from the beginning. While not scientific, the high cooking temperature seemed to reach 180 degrees F. The low seemed to be about 150 degrees. I did not check, the warm temp but after the food was brought up to temperature (about 45 minutes), we switched it to the warm setting and it did a nice job. The holders for the tops are great and very sturdy.

      Happy we bought this! – At an annual event for a group of 24 people, mostly teens, we wanted to get away from the usual pizza and hot dogs were the food of choice. So, we had a large crock pot of hot dogs and used this for the hot sides/topping (Chili, sauteed onions & sauerkraut). It not only worked out perfectly but we had an adult leader there who ordered the one with larger containers later that day for another organization that he works with! (One for adults and the organization will use for things like Football viewings where they have spreads with nachos, wings, baked potato bar, etc.) My husband thought of getting this because his sister uses one like this for hot Thanksgiving side dishes on her counter to save room on the table for platters and salad.
