Missing external water level indicator – It boils water. Not particularly faster or slower than others.

My first electric kettle – Before this I seriously questioned why anyone would buy one; or why they even exist anymore. Surely, the microwave oven rendered all these old technology devices obsolete, right? Wrong! Read on…

Great kettle… – I really like this kettle. The orange color is lovely. It heats up quickly and there is a switch that shuts off the unit once the water is heated.

– I bought this in Nov 2016. Until it died 19 months later, it was great, bigger and heavier than my previous stainless steel kettle but the insulating factor guarantees no burns, which was great and made the size and weight worthwhile. It is well insulated and retains temp very well so if multiple people are using it, it reheats quickly or doesn’t need to reheat. I had a metal one before and if you used it a couple of times, the thermostat shut it off and you could not use if for about 10 minutes, not this workhorse.

Update: Just Bought #3 – The review below was written several years ago when I purchased my first of these excellent kettles. I celebrated Prime Day this fall by ordering a replacement for the first one, which I destroyed. Here’s what happened: I was moving the kettle, including its base, aside in order to pull my food processor forward. My counter is a little crowded, so to make room, I pushed it sideways onto the stove. None of the burners were on–I am not that careless!–but unfortunately, one burner had been on quite recently, and I became aware of this fact when I reached over to move the kettle back into position–but I couldn’t remove it from the burner. It was melted onto the stove! (The base melted, but the kettle is still intact, and I’m not throwing it out, either.)
