thermastatically controlled – I have an electric range-burners are either barely warm or firestarter hot– i have burned up so many nice pots; now I just replace them with ones from the thrift store. . I prefer grilled bread and tortillas rather than toasted, and this grill does a good job. This product is solid, simple, streamlined and large enough grill toast, cook bacon, eggs. the finish seems durable and is easily cleaned. (you cannot submerge whole unit) but the surface wipes clean easily– think cast iron! heats evenly. i just leave it set up and use it almost every meal for something. great product – does what it is meant to, at a reasonable price. hope it keeps up the good work!
