      Makes great ice cream, not designed for heavy use – Freezer made very good ice cream while it worked, but after about six months of use the paddle started turning in unison with the canister. The ice cream therefore wouldn’t freeze properly because it wasn’t stirred and aerated. To be fair, I made a LOT of ice cream with it while it was working (2 or 3 batches per week). If you only make ice cream on holidays and special occasions, it might last years for you.

      3rd ice cream maker – I bought me this ice cream maker because I had to leave the one that i bought while on the Island, since I love ice cream and like making my own. i haven’t used it yet, the motor works. when I use it i will come back and update my review. I keep buying the same kind because they work, they are easy to clean, easy to use, especially with children.

      Just perfect – This is a great little unit. It made ice cream, and did it quite easily. It’s easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to clean. Even comes with a lid for ripening and storing your ice cream. Only 2 drawbacks I’ve noticed over the course of using it all summer (12 – 15 total uses). 1. It is a wee bit noisy. Not too bad, though. 2. I wish the cord was a little longer. That’s it. Totally worth every penny I paid just to see the kids eyes light up when I’d pull this off the shelf.

Everything is plastic including the gears and the motor is sized just to do the job. When you use it watch it. If the motor starts to labor, unplug it, the ice cream is either ready or something is jammed. Other than that it is easy to use and easy to clean. I would recommend either cleaning blade immediately or soaking it in water till you do clean it because it will be much harder to clean otherwise. Enjoy
