Nice yogurt maker, easy to use – Love that it comes with the jars and lids and very easy to use. Just made the first batch and the taste and consistency is perfect.

Learning curve :: Here’s my recipe – It took me a while to perfect the recipe, but now it’s a cinch. Just a matter of minutes to prep. Put 1000 ml of milk (I use 2%) in a blender. Gradually blend in a small container of plain yogurt on a low setting. I use Fage or Brown Cow—must have no additives!! Pour into the eight jars, process in the unit for 6-7 hours. Voilà!

Great for yogurt beginners like me – I’m learning to make yogurt, made my first batch by hand with a thermometer, a real pain, I had to babysit it for hours… I did the second batch with this, and it came out beautiful… There is a more expensive version with a digital temp display and temp adjustment, I got the cheaper manual ON/OFF version, with no timer. Everything was well made and quite sturdy. A full batch of 8 jars is only 3 quarts, and if you drain the whey off ( as I do ) that becomes about 1.5 quarts per 8 jar batch… not a lot, but enough for one person, for 2 or 3 days… inexpensive also, plus it has a fairly small footprint on the countertop… 14W x 8D x 6H. Power cord could be longer, but sufficient. Draws 20 Watts ( per manual ) but feels warmer than that… run it for 2 days and consume just 1 KWH. Maybe too small for a family, but for individual beginners ( looking for economy ) this is probably just about ideal.

Used Once So Far – It was easy enough, but I wish the jars had a line for the 6 oz. point. Yogurt was okay, but takes some getting used to. I think I’ll do a little experimenting with other milk. I used 2% and kept the unit on for 12 hours. Not as thick as I would like so I might strain the next time to get a thicker product unless using whole milk makes it thicker on its own. My decision to make my own yogurt was to lessen waste and so the the reusable glass jars hit the mark in that regard.

I love this machine – This makes the best yogurt I’ve ever had. I use the jars that come with it to measure my ingredients. It comes with 8 jars with lids. I use 1/2 jar yogurt, 1/2 jar cream, 7 jars or water and 2-1/3 cups of dry nonfat milk. Stir it with a whip and pour into the jars. Turn it on and let sit 8-14 hrs. Put in fridge to cool.

Bought as a gift – Bought this as a gift for my elderly mother who had issues with an ulcerated stomach She felt yogurt would be good for her condition but felt it was far too expensive to buy regularly, she now can make all the yogurt she wants at fraction of the cost and she states her stomach feels much better.

Ease to use and clean – The Muller yogurt maker turned out to be the least expensive choice for one of these machines. However, when I received it one of the 6oz jars was busted. On further inspection I could see that the glass at the bottom of the jar was very thin. I have not used it long enough to be able to tell you about the quality of the maker (but we are not staring at a good place.)

Easy to use but hard to know if it is on – The blue light is very small and not bright enough to tell if it is “on” and working. I had to put my hand around the light to make sure it was blue. One day I came home and someone unplugged it but I didn’t notice until it was too late. The next time I did a round of yogurt, I freaked out thinking it was unplugged again because I didn’t see the light on from a few feet away. It was plugged in and working but the light is very dim. There is no beep noise or button to push or switch to flip on so it is a big scary to not know if it is working or not. Super easy to clean out and use though. For my own sanity, I would buy a different kind next time but this price was right for me at the time. But I did lose expensive dairy free cultures and organic coconut milk because I just didn’t notice it was off/unplugged. Now I have label stickers on the plug and lid to make sure no one touches my yogurt maker. 4/5 stars just due to the light being dim. It does look just like the picture and the little jars are nice. Easy to clean and good price if you don’t have a lot of extra to spend on a fancy expensive one.
