      KEEPS COFFEE HOT!! – I love this new coffeepot. The stainless steel carafe really does keep the coffee hot for HOURS (and working from home, I need a hot pot all day without burning out the heating element). It’s easy to set up and I really like the extra water filter above the filter basket, and the ability to remove the water reservoir. I also love how the basket comes out from the SIDE vs having to open the top. Very nice feature for kitchens with upper cabinets, so you don’t have to pull out the pot all the way every time you want a pot of coffee.

      Good coffee put, but, water filter is gross – I am a heavy coffee drinker. The coffee pot probably goes twice daily at least. This coffee pot includes a spot to put a water filter in. It is a small disk you insert on the top part of the coffee basket. For me, the filter never dries during the day. It gets very gross by the end of the day. Sometimes, it can stay wet even over night. Each water filter is supposed to last about one month for regular users. So, I figured mine should last about 2 1/2 weeks. But, by day 4 it was not drying and got gross looking. I figured out, you don’t need the filter at all. It just adds to make the coffee tast smoother. But, to be as long as you get decent coffee, it will be good regardless. Other than the filter, the pot it’s self is fast at brewing and the craft keeps coffee hot for hours.

      Recommended, works great for years, saves energy – I’ve used my daughters machine for over 5 years when visiting her and bought one myself 1 year ago. No problems. It makes great coffee. We were running an old coffee maker with a heating element for about 4 hours a day. Now the coffee stays hot in the thermos with no additional energy cost. And, the coffee doesn’t boil down. I did a rough estimate for electricity costs versus running a heating element…running half an hour per day at 800W, costing $0.12 kWh, totals $17.52 per year savings.

      Like the ease of use – I bought this coffee maker after returning a Bonavita SCAA approved model, partially because it was less expensive and partially because I could brew the coffee with the lid on the carafe. We’ve been using it a little over 2 weeks now, and so far it seems adequate to the task of making 10 US sized cups of coffee in the morning without a hassle. I grind my coffee the night before and put the water in the reservoir so the only thing I have to do in the morning is punch the button. Since we are retired and don’t get up at a set time every day, I haven’t used the timer, but I do like the fact that there is a clock that is visible.
