Not dishwasher safe – You would think something that is meant to have raw meat touch every part of it would be dishwasher safe – but you’d be wrong.

It sure makes it easier – to grind our own fresh hamburger and ham salad. We’ve been using a hand grinder for quite a few years for leftover ham, etc., and found this a great change. It’s much easier on these old arms and hands.

    3. L. D (verified owner)

It fits so easily even if there are a couple of blankets under it – We love it, easy to use and clean and strong wmough

Great tool at a Great price point – We live in a smaller city in Brazil and could not get Italian sausage link or bulk. Of the 5 major supermarkets locally, NONE carried ground pork or would grind it for us. Enter Cuisinart. If you follow the directions and cut your meat into about 1 inch cubes, this grinder will grind it about as fast as you can feed it. Easy to use attachments if you want links. Disassembles with few easy to clean parts. I hand wash in mild dish water with a teaspoon of bleach to insure all bacteria are gone. There are no hard to reach nooks or crannies to retain bits of ground meat. We are happily making great links and bulk sausage. The only negative and it is minor: when operating it sounds a bit like a jet taking off. A little loud. A set of foam ear plugs fixes that. GRIND ON!

Works very well for the price. – I use it at least once a week grinding up large, semi-frozen chicken breast. I bought it to replace a manually operated grinder that is not nearly as good as the one my mother had back in the old days.

    7. Z. H (verified owner)

Great value – I ground up 35 lbs of venison with it and it was very easy to assemble, clean and use. Can’t speak to its durability as I’ve only used it once, but I was very happy with the results!

Fast and powerful – Our old Waring Pro grinder ran out of steam after several years of faithful service, and we replaced it with this. It’s faster and more powerful. There is a button and pin thing that is a little tricky for assembly, but it’s no big thing. We’ve been using it for two years to make our own sausage and we’re very pleased. If it lasts for 8 more years, we’ll say “Well done, Cuisinart!”

If you have more to grind more than one pound, find yourself anohter grinder! – I researched a lot before buying a meat grinder because my old one broke, and I could not find it anymore. My old grinder worked perfectly for many years, so I was hoping to get something similar. Based on all the reviews that I read, I bought this Cuisinart, but my hopes vanished very quick once I tried to grind some pork shoulder in order to make sausages. The grinder worked as long as the meat was almost frozen, but once it got a little warmer (don’t get me wrong, I don’t want my meat warm, but it did warm up a little since it was taken out of the freezer) the grinder stopped working. So it took a very long time for me to finish the job, because I had to put the meat back in the freezer, wait for it to get very cold/almost frozen (on top of it my freezer was full, so I had to take other products out of the freezer in order to make room for the meat), then take it out and start grinding again. If you want to grind your meat easily and fast, find another grinder, this one might do the work, but it will take a lot of effort and time on your part. If you only want to grind one pound, then you will probably be fine. But if you have bigger piece of meat, find another girinder and save some effort and time.
