Excellent Product – Summary – More detail will follow this summary, but for brevity, here is a summary of my thoughts. This machine was delivered on time via standard shipment. It was packaged well and no damage was noted. The functionality of the heating and frothing exceeded my expectation after some experimentation with various types of milk products. There are a few nuances to its use, avoiding spills and getting the best results. Skim milk provided the best overall repeatable performance. Unit cleaning is only needed on the occasion of spill-overs to the heating plate, but there is a simple resolution. The froth container and lid are dishwasher safe and so day-to-day cleaning is simple. Longevity of the unit will follow in the future if warranted; however, I have seen no reason not to expect years of good service from the unit.

2013 Capresso Frother works like new after cleaning – Please see the review by Speak the Truth. That person called the mfgr and was told to inspect the “business” surfaces, and if they found brown spot or other debris, to try cleaning the inside of the heating/frothing unit’s surface as well as the bottom outside surface of the cup. I purchased mine 9 years ago, and it worked for about a year, at which point it went to the back of a cupboard. Today I used a soft toothbrush with a tsp of dry baking soda and 2-3 drops of water to remove the crud around the edges of the once-shiny surface. I wiped away the yuck loosened by the baking soda with a damp cloth. I had to use Barkeeper’s friend to clean the bottom of the cup. All I can say is WOW! The frother just produced a small mountain of froth made from 1% milk. Good as new!

Buy the protection plan – Does a great job of warming or steaming milk. Comes with interchangeable disks that magnetically attach inside the heating cup – one disk froths the milk, the other just heats the milk. Received one as a gift about three years ago. It finally quit working. I bought a replacement, but did not get the protection plan. Well a little after the 30 day return/replace window the heating cup started leaking through the bottom center. (this may be the place where the spinning mechanism enters the inside of the heating cup.)

Great frother for our use – I really like this frother, have had it for years and still works great. I use it basically to make what is pretty much close to cafe au lait but I use cream from our cow plus a little milk in the frother. Love it, would buy another if this one stopped working but have had it since 2015 without any problems.
