Great juicer, a bit pricey – So, we’ve had the 800JEXL for three weeks and these are my findings.

– I absolutely love this juicer. I have had it a couple of weeks now and it works great. It is very easy to assemble/disassemble and it is very easy to clean. They provide a little brush to clean out the fine mesh filter and this works great and takes very little time. It says you can put it in the dishwasher, but I never would. It cleans so quick under tap water that I personally see no need to risk clouding the plastic. The juicer is very well made and sturdy. The parts are stainless steel. I think this is well worth the upgrade over the less expensive model that is made with plastic parts. The juice made from this is great. It handles hard and medium items really well. Softer items like spinach are a bit of a challenge. You need to roll up leaves tight and sandwich them between harder items to get the best result. The juice tastes fantastic. It doesn’t heat the juice up so you get all of the nutritional benefit of cold extraction. It does take up a fair bit of counter space and you need lots of overhead clearance to move the food plunger in and out of the chute. But, the juicer is functionally attractive and is not an eyesore. I have had no problem with leaks or clogs. I am glad I chose this model.

Good juicer, with some idiocyncracies . . . – I was encouraged to begin juicing after watching a video “Fat, Sick, and Almost Dead,” by Joe Cross. I did my research and elected to replace my 10-year old Omega spinner, which was a pain to clean and inexplicably just stopped working as I began my juicing regime. I looked a the arguments for centrifugal, like my old Omega, versus masticating juicers, like the venerable Champion. In the end, I chose this Breville.

– I’ve been juicing for about 15 years or so. I started with a simple Hamilton Beach unit and quickly realized that full time juicing requires a proper machine. So I bought this unit about 12 years ago and got about 10 years on it and the motor bearings finally went (though machine still worked fine, just some extra noise).. Had some hard times for a couple of years, so I purchased the Breville Juice Fountain Plus.. good machine but just not industrial enough for my usage, so sold that and tried the Breville Juice Fountain Cold.. but again, just not industrial enough.. motor too weak..
