Basic and well made. – This is a little smaller than the one that has a metal cover. I can get 1 & 1/2 cups out of it. It does the job. Doesn’t take up too much room in the dishwasher.

It’s the right size for one person – I have the bigger one in this brand of French press. But for just me, it’s too big. My sister was looking for one so I told her to buy this one. She loved it so much I ended up buying me one too. I just love it!!!

You want a coffee press? This is the coffee press. – Who wouldn’t want to drink a liter of coffee?! =) This makes a liter of the best coffee you’ve ever put in your mouth – get some coarse grind coffee, stick it in, boiling water, wait a few minutes, plunge it, boom, it’s yummy. Also works good for loose leaf tea and for cold brew. And because Amazon’s asking about blending power, I guess I gotta say it is not a blender. Cleanup is easy – you can rinse the grounds out and toss them out on your lawn/garden/whatever, and this is perfectly safe in the dishwasher (but loosen the filter so it gets cleaned up). Pro tip: if you let it sit too long, there will be mold and you will have to get a new screen (because the mold does not wash out of the screen).

Lid could be improved – The lid on this could be better. In order to put it on the carafe it has to line up with the handle which is also where the slots are to pour through. That means the heat can escape which isn’t a problem if you don’t like piping hot coffee. My old one had a lid that would keep everything sealed until I decided to pour the coffee out.
