Mixed Bag – This really does do a good job of cooking hard eggs with steam rather than in water. An extra step or so versus simply boiling. However, the instrument for piercing the egg is too dull and a bet that I have broken about a dozen eggs using this piercing tool. If one went elsewhere to find a good, sharp, quality piercing instrument, then the product would be surprisingly good. Bottom like: a couple of extra steps, but the results are worth it. The piercing tool, however is simply trash, and quite frustrating to use. Just be forewarned.

Finally….easy to peel hard boiled eggs! – I’ve tried every trick in the books to make easy-to-peel eggs. Follow the directions on this gem, and you are good to go. Doesn’t matter if eggs were bought 10 days ago or today…don’t have to use the little pinpoint prick either. Do have white vinegar on hand for cleaning the appliance…doesn’t take much, but it removes minerals quickly and easily. This makes deviled eggs a breeze. Also will be great for Easter eggs. I haven’t tried for omelettes, etc., yet. Even if I’m less thrilled with those features, it’s fine by me. This unit is small enough to easily store when not in use, and it’s lightweight…But easy-to-peel eggs…it’s great.

Comes with a measuring cup to fill up with water and it shows you exactly how much you need for the type of boiled egg you want. When the timer shuts off its done. Fits 7 eggs on the bottom and 7 on top. I found the eggs were a lot easier to peel and the shells were not sticking. Great for college students. Only negative is the writing is starting to peel off the measuring cup after the first few uses
