Love this rice cooker – This cooker is well made of excellent quality. The removable pot is quite heavy and made in high-grade stainless steel. It’s not coated so the rice sticks to the pot slightly. This is expected because it’s not nonstick and that’s the reason why I bought it. I noticed when the cooked rice stays in the pot on keep-warm mode longer, the rice sticks more but if you scoop out the rice right away, it barely sticks at all. This is a small size cooker but not too small like a mini and it’s perfect for single or couples. I cooked 3 cups of brown rice and it comes out perfect, and no spills whatsoever. I love this cooker’s quality, size, and cheerful red color. I’m very happy with it, and thanks to Amazon for the speedy delivery! ❤

Great little rice cooker – I wasn’t looking for a non-stick rice cooker, thus I knew this one wouldn’t be a breeze to clean, and it isn’t, I don’t care what kind of grease you put on the bottom, there’s a layer of rice that’s going to stick, and that is just fine with me, the most important feature I was looking for was a stainless steel cook pot. This thing cooks the rice to perfection and it has never boiled over (granted, I don’t fill it to capacity – 1 cup uncooked rice is the most I ever cook, cuz that’s plenty for a side dish for my family of 4). When its done cooking, I empty it of all but a thin, stuck-on layer of rice, then just add a bit of water and let it soak for a while, and it scrapes right out.

No teflon coating! – We love our little rice cooker. It’s soooo simple to use, makes perfect rice every time, is faster than the stove top and takes up little space. Oh, and the vessel is stainless steel so it’s much healthier than the coated version.

Much better than the non stick ones – So far so good. The inner pot is heavier compared to non stick pots. Rice WILL STICK if you keep it plugged in for a long time after it has cooked. However, it is easier to clean if left to soak in hot water for sometime. I would not recommend putting it in dishwasher. Hand washing will prolong the life of the pot. Also won’t recommend using any strong abrasive pads to clean it. I have also cooked Quinoa on it and it cooks perfectly. Sticky rice WILL STICK, so use proper judgement. For anyone complaining about water splashing out, I usually leave the lid off until water has come to a boil and reduced down to half, then I simply put the lid on and voila! No splashing issue! If water to rice quantity is high then ALL rice cooker with this lid will have splashing issue. I am an asian and have used Rice Cooker all my life so I can vouch that is a very common issue. Just leave the lid off until water has reduced by 50% and then simply put it back on and rice will cook just fine (use your best judgement to see the water level though, as too little water may result in uncooked rice)

But I do recommend stirring the rice at least once toward the end of it’s cooking cycle to prevent it sticking to the base of the stainless steel pot. I am also in the practice of shutting off the heat before the cooker shuts itself from COOK to WARM because I find the rice is cooked fine before it makes the switch to WARM, and most important, the rice sticks less to the bottom of the stainless steel pot if I don’t let it continue cooking until it switches itself to WARM.
